The Art of Rest
The Art of Rest is a monthly workshop series designed to help you align your body and mind with the natural rhythms of the seasons. Rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), each session combines seasonal wisdom with the deeply simple yet profound practice of Restorative Yoga to promote rest, regulation, and sustained vitality.
Held on the first Sunday of every month, each workshop is built around the energetic themes of the season, drawing from the Five Elements of TCM — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water — to support your body through the changing cycles of the year.
What’s Included:
- Restorative Yoga sequences tailored to the season’s associated organ systems and meridians
- Breathwork and guided rest to calm the nervous system and restore balance
- Acupressure, self-massage, and somatic practices to support regulation and energy flow
- Seasonal insights from TCM, including emotional themes, nutrition guidance, and lifestyle support- Space for reflection, integration, and embodied stillness
- A grounded, accessible approach — no experience with yoga or TCM required
This workshop is open to everyone. Whether you're managing stress, seeking better sleep, recovering from burnout, or simply looking for a more intentional way to mark the passage of time, this practice offers tools that support your vitality through the year.

Spring Skin
A Seasonal Lymphatic & Herbal Immersion
In collaboration with Nia Botanica and Mangata Yoga Health & Wellness
Spring is not a time to reset your skincare.
It is a time to recalibrate the body.
As the seasons shift, the lymphatic and nervous systems are placed under new demand. When circulation is sluggish and the body is holding stress, the skin often reflects this—through congestion, dullness, and inflammation.
Spring Skin is a considered, immersive workshop designed to support skin health at its source.
Blending clinical understanding with traditional practices, this experience brings together lymphatic drainage, breath-led regulation, and herbal medicine—offering a deeper, more effective approach to skin.
The Experience
You will be welcomed into the space with a carefully prepared herbal tea, before being guided into gentle movement and breathwork designed to stimulate lymphatic flow, regulate the nervous system, and prepare the body for treatment.
From there, the workshop unfolds into a practical, hands-on session where you will learn:
• Lymphatic drainage facial techniques using Gua Sha, guided by a trained massage therapist, with a focus on reducing puffiness, improving circulation, and supporting skin clarity
• Self-massage methods you can integrate into your routine to maintain results beyond the session
• Breathwork and simple movement practices to enhance internal flow and support systemic balance
• The foundations of herbal medicine for skin health, including how specific herbs support the liver, reduce inflammation, and improve overall skin vitality
• How to blend and work with loose-leaf teas intentionally, using them as a daily tool for both skin and nervous system support
Each guest will receive a jade Gua Sha tool to take home, allowing you to continue the practice with confidence and consistency.
The Approach
This is not surface-level skincare.
It is an education in how the skin reflects internal function—and how to work with the body, rather than against it.
By combining modern lymphatic techniques with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and herbalism, this workshop offers both understanding and application.
Accessible to all levels, this is a space to learn, experience, and leave with tools that create lasting change.

Sleep Lab
A Nervous System Reset for Deep Rest
At Maya & Moon Studio, Christchurch
Sleep is not something you force.
It is something the body allows.
When the nervous system remains in a constant state of activation, the body loses its ability to downshift. The result is familiar—racing thoughts, restless nights, and waking without true restoration.
Sleep Lab is a carefully designed evening to address this at its root.
This is not about trying harder to sleep.
It is about creating the conditions that allow sleep to happen.
The Experience
You will enter a softly lit, candlelit space designed to signal safety and stillness from the moment you arrive.
Over the course of the evening, you will be guided through a structured progression that gradually moves the body out of stress response and into deep parasympathetic rest.
The session includes:
• Restorative yoga, influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine, using fully supported postures to release tension and encourage internal regulation
• Breathwork designed to mirror the natural patterns the body moves through as it prepares for sleep
• Guided meditation and reflective practices to quiet mental activity and reduce cognitive overstimulation
• A crystal bowl sound bath, using vibrational frequencies to support nervous system recalibration and deeper states of rest
• A grounding closing ritual with sleepy tea and nourishing treats, allowing you to leave settled, rather than stimulated
Each element is intentionally sequenced to support the body in remembering how to switch off.
The Approach
This is not simply relaxation.
It is a physiological reset.
Research consistently shows that women are significantly more likely to experience sleep disruption, often linked to chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation rather than a lack of sleep hygiene.
Sleep Lab addresses this directly—working with the body, not against it.
By combining restorative practices, breath, and sound, this experience creates the conditions for genuine, restorative rest to return.
No experience is needed.
Only a willingness to slow down.
